Ursula Sexton M.Ed

Ursula Sexton is a nationally recognized educator. Her illustrious career as a caring and inspiring educator and researcher touched thousands of lives from children in pre-school and their parents, to professors of international universities seeking her expertise in pedagogical models, leadership and bilingual science education. She has taught all K-12 grades in a career that spanned over 30 years. Now retired, she dedicates her time to continue honing her skills as a human development practitioner.

She’s a coach in training, and has logged over 1000 hours of educational coursework on well-being, nutrition, mindful self-compassion, positive psychology, understanding trauma, healing with the natural world, breathwork and several modalities of movement through dance, Ti-Chi, and Yoga combined. Her vision is to address family needs and individual challenges, to help those in their journey of deepening commitment toward awareness, belonging and connection with their own loving essence.

Her expertise working with communities of diverse cultural backgrounds and languages still inspires a desire to continue to serve those who are less fortunate and underserved, as she envisions creating or working with a Foundation or crowd sourcing to offer coaching services at low or at no cost for those who cannot afford them. This involves working with community-based approaches, where leaders and liaisons become catalysts within their communities, to support families and youth with internal buy-in and trust-building relationships.

As a teacher, researcher, author and consultant, she has impacted all levels of the educational system. She brings to her new role expertise having been a mentor and coach in the educational setting. Now, as a Modern Elder, she is a mentor who offers transformative practices for deep self-exploration, healing, and for moving her clients to find their inner strengths to thrive living compassionately and allowing the beauty of their loving essence to emerge.

Originally, from Bogotá, Colombia, she came to study in the U.S., and became a learning scientist, educator and researcher. She has been married for 43 years, has 2 grown daughters and 4 grandchildren. Her titles include: Presidential Awardee and National Science Teacher, and her new book “Wisdom in Being: Thriving After Loss Through Belonging, Awe and Loving Presence” has made her a #1 International Best Selling author.
