Laura Henry
Laura Henry is a NYC-based dance artist, choreographer, personal trainer and philanthropist. She is the founder of Impact Movement Collective and Impact Movement NYC. She also serves as a board member of an arts in education non-profit, DMF Youth. She holds a BFA in Performance from Hofstra University, where she graduated with high honors.
Laura experienced the gift of dance at the early age of three and it has been a major passion and presence in her life ever since. However, growing up in the competitive dance world and navigating life as a highly sensitive person proved a difficult balance. This challenge would follow her well into young adulthood in NYC.
Laura has performed locally and internationally as a soloist with Vissi Dance Theater under the direction of mentor, Courtney Ffrench. She is also a company member of Roschman Dance.
Despite her achievements, feeling confident in her identity as an artist and a person was a great challenge.
Several years ago, Laura experienced an unexpected, dramatic change of life circumstances which led her toward a journey of self-discovery. She decided it was time to live the life she desired, and it was time to tell her story. She launched her dance company, Impact Movement Collective in 2014 and her philanthropic personal training company Impact Movement NYC shortly thereafter.
In addition to her experience as a performer, Laura has a deep passion for helping others discover their potential and express who they truly are.
"Life can be tough. I've learned that self love the best tool we have to arm ourselves in the fight for the authentic, happy lives we deserve."
